Ryzer: High Tea at Axis Bar, Mandarin Oriental

Last weekend I visited Axis Bar with R and his family for high tea. It wasn't the usual kind of lifestyle that I'm used to. Ya..as you already know I am a kampong girl from yishun. haha.
It was a refreshing experience. I had been to high tea buffets but nothing like this. It's about $40 per pax and you can choose from a range of teas by TWG.
Then the rest of the food came in batches. First we had a Korean apple jelly which is quite nice. It is not too sweet and the presentation is just ATAS! lol
All the other savoury food was served in cute petite sizes (not enough for me) but they all tasted very well. I especially love the smoked salmon. I don't know why but recently I have been craving for salmon especially sashimi (R too).
The one that was served in a mini ice-cream cone like thingy is damn nice. I am not someone who likes raw food but the raw veggies inside just mixed so well with whatever they stuffed in it.

They also had mushroom and beef puffs which I thought was ok. The beef smell/taste was manageable for me and thus I had my share. R kept hinting to me that he wants the beef puff by saying that it tastes very beefy and he was sure I wasn't going to like it.

Here comes the sweet treats which in my opinion is too sweet.

This pink/rose cake on the other hand tasted just nice. It was in fact quite pleasant to eat this since I have a liking for rose tea, rose macaroons and etc.

As the kampong kias, we wanted to ta-bao the remaining desserts because it was really too gelat to finish all the sweet stuff at one go but too bad, they do not offer ta-bao services :(

Took a group photo before we left.

Till the next..
