Travel: Taiwan Part I

It's been a month since my taipei trip. I've been procrastinating with blogging. Partly because I was really swamped with work, partly because I really wanted my free time to be free. This is my third trip to taipei in 5 years. I love that place so much. The people are nice, the food is great, the shopping is wonderful...
We took Scoot and yucks! The food sucks and the cost was high. But R paid for it so i shouldn't complain so much. :X
We stayed at iTrip Taipei which is right smack in the heart of Xi Men Ding. Awesome location but the room is tiny. Oh well, who cares since we did not really stay in our hotel much except for when we fell sick and got paranoid about bird flu. haha.
R wanted to try some local food so we went to the 小吃街 of Xi Men Ding for dinner after we landed and checked into our hotel. It was fantastic, tasted very normal. We walked around for a bit and got back after most of the shops closed.
We decided to visit Beitou on the second day (we didn't have an itinerary, just deciding what to do the previous day) but before we set off, we explored some parts of XMD.

Ok, unglam shot of me rolling up my jeans and soaking my feet in the hot (warm) spring water.

After which, we went up to Yang Ming Shan as it was nearby. I guess this is the kind of place R loves to visit. Nature, birds, water, little streams, flowers, trees....

The wind was cooling but the sun was unforgiving. However, it's still nice to see people using the facilities, coming here for morning exercise and all.

After walking around for about an hour or two, there's really nothing much except for nature or if you want to climb higher which I wasn't in the proper shoes to do that, we went to Fisherman's Wharf. (渔人码头)

Right before we board our ferry to Fisherman's Wharf, look at who we met! OMG! It's such a small world because the day before I also met my friends from JC.

Woah, I helped R took like 100ssss of photos here because of people walking behind him. #patienceisavirtue

End of our 1st two days which had the most number of photos taken because subsequently, I just got lazy. hahahahahha

Side note: As I was typing this post with the chinese characters, I realised how much I've lost touch with my mother tongue. I mean I do speak in mandarin all the time but writing is something that I have not done in a long time. Proper writing, not just ranting about things. I miss those days during sec school where we had to write 作文, it was something I really love. I miss reading 小说 as well. I even had a dream last night about forgetting to bring a chinese magazine to class and got scolded by my chinese teacher, 杨老师. Haha! I guess what you talked about during the day will be recapped when you sleep. I was chatting with a parent for like 45 mins and she was going on and on about how she was a higher chinese student so her english is really lousy and that her kids are the same... hahahahah.
