Pisa | Cinque Terre, Italy Day 5 & 6

Pisa | Cinque Terre, Italy Day 5 & 6

 Day 5
We took this tiny little car that felt like it was going to fly away anytime when we were on the highway to Pisa.

It was manual and Ray had to get used to driving at the start. It was raining and I was panicking because google map was not working. Hahaha. The situation was frustrating yet funny at the same time.
Pisa
We parked outside the wall cos it's free and walked in the rain to the leaning tower of pisa.

I was, Tbh, very unimpressed with the building haha. But since we are already in Italy and it was on the way to our next stop, why not?

We had lunch at the area around Pisa. It was raining so we just went into the nearest pizzeria we could find.

Once again, R over ordered. He does that whenever he's hungry.

Ohhhh... They have hawaii pizza in this pizzeria and I ordered it. Lol
R was telling me how I will not be able to find hawaiian pizza here but what's this? Haha he then proceeded to Google for videos of Italians getting angry over pineapple on pizza. 😂
We continued our journey to La Spezia where we had to return the car then take a train into Riomaggiore, one of the 5 towns in Cinque Terre.

It is off peak season now so almost everything was closed and we were so afraid we couldn't find a place to eat.

Before dinner, we walked around Riomaggiore which consists of only 2 streets. Haha

The water was so choppy and waves were crashing like Poseidon is freaking mad.
Pizzeria Ristorante "Veciu muin"
We probably took like one million photos of the waves before heading back to the apartment to rest before going out for dinner. We wanted to go to this restaurant that was highly recommended on TripAdvisor but they were closed. In fact, only 1 ristorante was opened. 😢

We (I) exercised self control and did not over order this time. My squid pasta was so good. The taste was so different from any pasta I've had. The fragrance of the squid was divine.
I read that you have to eat pesto pasta in this area and told R about it so he ordered pesto pasta for all his meal here when I didn't. Lol mine was always better!
 Day 6
We started day 6 slightly later because I was feeling sick and feverish the night before. We went to grab breakfast at a cafe near the train station and an 😡 episode happened when R the clumsy spill my cuppuccino all over my breakfast. I was so happy that I was not going to have to eat sandwich for breakfast and the clumsiness happened when a group of korean tourists came in. He wanted to remove his bag from the seat so the tourists can sit. Haiz. 😧

We visited Manarola and Vernazza.
I would say that Manarola is way prettier than Vernazza though I think they're all very similar.
Vernazza was boring and has nothing. We probably stayed there for 15 mins and left for lunch at Rio Bistrot back at Riomaggiore.

We ordered quite a bit here because I was still hungry from breakfast. The appetiser was a squid dish and it was mind blowing. I never had squid so soft before.

I had a ang mo version of mee hoon kueh but it was really good. R ordered a pesto pasta that was OK but not as good as mine. 😂

We also ordered 2 desserts which were both quite unique.
Our apartment owner was very nice to let us leave our luggage with them until around 330pm before we left for Venice.

We were waiting in this very lok kok waiting area for our train to Sarzana. We watched TBBT while waiting for the train to arrive and were at the same time worried that we might miss our train 😂
Random selfie that R initiated to take to remember the moment when we were waiting for train in the most lok kok waiting room.. Haha
We reached Venice at around 945pm after an arduous 5h plus train ride excluding transfers. It was so windy and cold when we alighted from the train.

It took us quite long to walk to the hotel after getting off the water taxi that brought us to San Marco. So many steps and poor Ray had to carry both our luggage.
