Florence Italy Day 4

Florence, Italy Day 4

Day 4 morning was freezing at 1 deg C at 830am when we went to get breakfast. We did not expect the temperature to drop that low but luckily we brought all the necessary clothing, Gloves, hand warmer etc out.

We headed to Ponte Vecchio after breakfast to look at the view by the river.
Left side if the river where we will be exploring after taking a few photos of the river.
Right side of the river is where we are staying and where all the shopping is.
Ponte Vecchio
Mandatory selfie when we go to any nice place.
It was quite a gloomy morning and the sun was kind of blocked by the clouds. This is the Pitti Palace, we only stood outside because we have had enough of old buildings / museums. Haha
As usual, I was made to take like one million photos for him in order to get the right one. 😂🤣
I had to go to the toilet so we ended up having a second coffee at a cafe that looks atas because the servers and baristas all dressed up well.
Michelangelo
After that we continued our journey up to Michelangelo which was quite a climb in the super cold weather. We were trying to find any patch along the road that sun is shining on to warm ourselves like lizards. Haha.

But once we reached the top we were so hot we took out our jackets when it was only 5 deg C. Haha. Very confusing situation for our bodies when we sort of exercise during winter time. The same thing happened when we climbed bukhansan mountain in Korea few years back.
So pretty we took many many many photos while we were up there. I think the view was also better because we climbed up.

It's not a difficult climb Tbh, I'm just really tired from all the walking the past few days.

After that it was almost time to go back to the other side of the river for lunch at Trattoria Mario. It was a highly recommended place by our friend who is a major foodie. They only open at 12pm and there were already people standing outside the shop before they opened.
Trattoria vs Osteria vs Ristorante vs Enoteca
The trattorias are traditionally family owned, casual, rustic neighbourhood restaurants found throughout all of Italy that serve fresh, unassuming, conventional local food.

“Ristorante” should mean a full service restaurant, and there should according to history be a host or hostess to seat you. The wait staff, including a sommelier, should be experienced with food and wine as well as with proper service etiquette.
Osterias are wine bars that have evolved to serve simple meals. Traditionally, they are simpler than trattorias and usually have no menu.

Traditionally, enotecas served no food; they were just a place to go and drink wine. Now, most enoteca serve light appetizers.

Most restaurants in Italy give bread 🍞 but idk why they always give cold and stone hard bread that are super difficult to bite.

We ordered 3 dishes to share: black cabbage soup, roast pork and baked(?) chicken.

The soup was so so so so so good. This trattoria is slightly different from those that we have been to in the sense that you have to share table with others like when you go to kopitiam.
We went to The Mall for some shopping in the afternoon. It wasn't in our initial plan but friends have been telling us that the outlet in Florence is quite good and Google also told me that Florence has one of the best outlets in Europe. We bought return tickets for 13€ each from the bus station and it allows us to leave and return at any time the bus runs.

We went straight to Tod's to find the shoes that @chasingwaterfalls asked me to get for her if I go outlet. Sadly, they don't have the
colour that she wanted. I tried finding stuff to buy but they're either out of my size or out of my budget. 😂

I was looking at a Ysl bag and was seriously considering to buy it but didn't get it in the end. It wasn't in my shopping list initially so I didn't want to buy on impulse. My brother in law will come to Italy in April so if I really want it, I'll ask him to buy for me when he comes.
We walked around and I saw many PRCs and Koreans all carrying bags and bags of shopping. I couldn't understand why because to me, they're not particularly nice.

We went back to Central Florence to do more shopping after buying nothing but Ice-cream and coffee at the outlets. Lol.

I bought a blazer from Massimo Dutti in the end.
When we visited Zara, there was a very bad smell in the store. I kept trying to walk away so that I will stop smelling it but it seemed to follow me around. Then I thought, Wah, the zara here has a really weird taste in smell. You know how shopping centres always have a particular smell because that's how they want the patrons to relate to the mall through the smell....then I thought.... This zara... Loves fart smell... Wtf
I asked R if he smell the same thing and if there is a fart smell. I also told him that this zara is very weird....

You know what was his reaction?
He laughed!!!
 It was him!
No wonder I felt like my surrounding was filled with fart smell and I couldn't shake it off no matter where I walked to.

Is this a guy thing? Hahahahahahaha
Last stop for the night was at Trattoria Zaza, another place recommended by our friend. It's located beside Trattoria Mario so we made reservation in the afternoon.

The number of items on their menu is insane..... Seriously spoilt for choice.

I only remembered to take photos for the first 2 appetiser and forgot about the rest. Haha. The food was so so only, we have had better ones in Italy.
Fast forward to day 5 925pm. Laying in bed so early because I am super tired and idk why my cheeks are so flushed and my body feels warm. It doesn't even feel like I'm having fever.
