2 separate sessions or just hold in a hotel?
We are stuck with our wedding planning because the place that we like can't hold all our guests one shot unless we get a tentage and do it outdoor. But it would defeat the purpose of holding it at that venue.

The restaurant staff suggested to hold two separate sessions, one in the afternoon and one at night.

Then comes the problem of family at night or friends/colleagues at night?

second time as bridesmaid

One of my sec sch girlfriend got married yesterday and I was one of the bridesmaids. Just want to record things down from my POV and also so learn from it so I will not make the same mistakes and also adopt whatever was good.

My day started at 245am because I'm doing makeup for the bride's mom at 4am. I needed to get myself ready, buy my breakfast before I go so need to wake up slightly earlier than the rest.

I got mcd with mc cafe extra shot coffee helped me stay awake in the morning.
I reached the bride's place at 4am and she was already doing her makeup. Erm the surcharge for the MUA to come was a whopping $320. $80/h before 7am though she was only there till 5am.

The bride didn't ask me about this and thought it was $80 extra only. I would've told her about it. So #dayrebrides take note of the morning surcharge if you need to follow the auspicious time.

I only told the bride to give 意思意思 for the makeup so obviously I didn't charge the morning surcharge.
I ended the bride's mom makeup at around 5ish am while the other bridesmaids were busy preparing the gate crash games. While preparing, a little tiny conflict with the bride's sis happened.

We were supposed to use the mahjong table for the gate crash games since we were doing it at the void deck lift lobby area but the big sis insisted that it's for the roast pig and disallowed us to use.

The bridal party was briefed but the family was not. We gave in & just went to use a table further away.
Note to self: brief family too!

So anyway the sis was unhappy and sort of nag at me when I was doing her makeup after the gate crash. I'll leave that for later.

Anyway, we carried everything down and found a table but the wind was crazy strong, blowing away all our papers.

@chasingwaterfalls found another table and we quickly brought all the things over. By this time, i think we were already late and were coming up with plans to shorten the game time and do forfeit first. Haha 😂
So, to explain the collage above, the groom finally drove in after waiting somewhere else for some time.

The bride's nephew was the one to open the door but I think some photo angle/whatever was not right so NG NG, redo.

This time round, one of the bridesmaid was task to be the 打灯师,holding the light so we can snap photos.
Dilly dally for damn long before we started playing the games and the first thing was forfeit.
@sugarushh : ok 你们迟到了,要罚。
兄弟:我们哪里有迟到?!
姐妹:我讲你们有迟到 (while holding the forfeit drinks) 。你们有没有迟到??
兄弟:Ok, 有有有,我们迟到!
This first game was a thread game. The brothers had to pass the thread through the needle using only one hand.
The forfeit for losing the thread game was 辣 and they had to eat the spicy noodle which we very kindly provided the tissue to prevent any chilli oil from getting onto their white clothes because we may or may not have destroyed a dress or two while preparing. Lol.
Fast forward through the other games, the last one was specially prepared for the groom.

The mystery box.

He is afraid of lizards so before the AD, the bride told him that he's going to have to touch a lizard.

We prepard this and he basically just had to take out whatever we put inside and it's actually a piece of squid.
Bao and me quickly ran up to make sure we can guard the door before the brothers come up while the rest packed the stuff.

We got our ang bao and let them in. He was supposed to say 5 promises before he can go in but he forgot the last few and the bride had to give him hints. Haha.

This was his face when he said 我忘记了,惨了。
The whole family prayed after the tea ceremony and before the couple left for the groom's place.

I had not seen this before so I was quite interested. They were chanting something which I didnt understand.
The mom hugged the bride before she left and I think she said something to her and she cried. It was a very touching moment. The rest of the crew already left by now to load things in the car. I stayed back to do the make up for the sister.
Did a side do for her mom though her hair was only just touching her shoulders.
I wanted to use some hair accessory for her but dear @chasingwaterfallslost them. Eh, go find leh.

Luckily, her mom has a ribbon clip so we used it. It's not common for mua to provide accessories for mom/bridal entourage, only for brides.
Fast forward through the sister's makeup because it's just her telling me how we 年轻人 dont follow traditional customs blah blah which I just very politely reply her here and there but wasnt very interested la.

I mean as long as the newly weds are happy then 👌! Nobody has time to care about everybody.

I took a cab to MBS to rejoin the group which took rather long. Uberx cost $32 from semb to mbs at 830am. Siao. So i got a cab which took forever. Ok, maybe the driver wanted to stay safe.
Bridal entourage and the couple took some photos together then off we went to do our jobs.

I was the hairstylist for the day so I helped to change the bride's hair for ROM.

It's a simple side do that she requested.
The other side of the hair which I reused the flowers that she had on her head in the morning.
The ROM went well, the scenery was beautiful, people arrived. Swee!

Oh, but there wasnt any music when the bride walked in so it was a bit dry.

Note to self: must have music when walking in. Make sure there's speakers!
Part of the album table that I played a small but very important part of tearing papers that were extremely fragile to make the flowers. Haha.
The two of them, @chasingwaterfalls and @sugarushh sugarushh, are really damn good at this. Can 开门做生意 le la.
One photo with the bride before I went out to help give out the jenga blocks for guests to write their well wishes and then gave out petals to the tables by aisle, instructing the guests to throw the petals when the bride and groom come in for first march in.
Someone took this photo during the first march in, is it @sugarushh

Finally got to sit down, have our meal, catch up with the rest before I leave for 2nd march in hairstyling.

Oh, before we started the lunch, I also opened express hair curling service one stop shop for the bridesmaids. Haha.
So this was the second march in hairstyle that I did for the 👰.

Funny story.

I was slightly late because guest's tables are not served as fast as the main table so I was still gobbling down my food before heading over.

The groom helped her to change into this red outfit that took forever and ever because you have to put the string through pne million holes behind.

This type of dress gives you the best shape but you can't get a guy to do it. She came out after what felt like 15mins just
for wearing a dress. I was already all set up and ready to help her change the hairstyle.

She came out and asked me if it looks weird behind. She said it looks very ugly. 😂

The string was twisted all over, of course ugly la.

So we went in and I helped her this time round. Wah, tiring leh! After what felt like another million years, we were finally ready to change the hair.

When I finally took out all the bobby pins, guess what? It was time to go. The banquet coordinator came into the room
I told the coordinator that I needed more time and asked him to just serve the next dish.

The girls came out and we took a photo tgt outside the waiting room when I was done with the hair.

Taking selfies tgt since 2014.
