My kind of OT
Still stuck in the centre now because these two dudes didn't do their homework despite me giving them 2 weeks to complete it.
Sometimes I wonder if I should care so much since they don't. I don't have file check so even if they don't complete it, nobody cares.
Ok, that's not true. I care. Too much.
It's so frustrating when they don't deliver their promises. So, I've decided 长痛不如短痛, I'll suffer for extra 30 mins so that we can move on to next week's agenda.

Interesting incident in class this week
I don't teach the lower pri so this did not happen to me but my sister.
This Friday is teachers' day so one of the P2 kids gave my sis a present. It was wrapped like a candy with two ribbons tied at both ends.
He very shyly passed it to my sis without saying anything. When my sis asked him why did he pass her a present, he whispered, '' ''For teachers' day''.
He went back to his seat smiling the whole time because he was the only one who gave a teachers' day present.

So, there is this girl in the class who is the 大姐大. She bosses people around and often demands for sweets from the other classmates but always very reluctant to share when she brought her own.
This time, she snatched the present from my sis's hands and started unwrapping it.
My sis stared at her in disbelief as she didn't expect her to snatch it from the teacher's hands.
The boy shouted at 大姐大 when he saw what happened.

大姐大: 我只是要看而已！！！
Ignoring what the boy said, 大姐大 continued to remove one of the ribbon.
This caused an uproar. All of a sudden, everyone in the class was on the same side as the boy and started reprimanding 大姐大 for being so rude and inconsiderate.
She was embarrassed and dropped the present on the table.

This 大姐大 is not your usual 大姐大. She does her work and tops the class almost every single tests.
But being smart doesn't equate to having good character.
She doesn't share and often criticise the others for being slower than her. It's very hard to stop her from saying nasty things because she always says it when you least expect it. Super random.

What's very weird is everyone accedes to her requests all the time though she doesn't reciprocate.
I cannot comprehend what is going on in the 8 year old mind. I guess they're just really kind and always willing to share even when the other person in unkind to them.
Idk if I want my kid to be 大姐大 or the kind souls in the future. I hope he/she can be a combi of both, knowing when to stand up for yourself and not stingy to share.

I got a mosquito bite. Nooooo.
This was my first teacher's day gift this year. It wasn't from the student but the parent.
It was sent early in the morning when I was asleep.
I thought it was from my student initially because I saved the number as
--- Student's name Mom ---
So I only saw my student's name and went back to sleep. I thought he was bugging me to change the lesson timing again.
It is not easy to be in this industry when it is so saturated. It is especially hard when the parents think their💲 is v 'big'.

But there are some parents who are ever so sweet and encouraging. I feel like giving them a hug when I see them but it's probably stepping over the line.
This particular student used to be bullied by his classmates when he was in pri sch. I didn't know. He didn't say anything at all. He is a very happy go lucky person so it's very hard to detect anything.
So, one day after his PSLE, he told me that he won't be coming for class during his break before sec 1.

I was a bit surprised that he told me that because I thought it was a given that he will enjoy his holidays just playing computer games and stuff. I never expected him to continue with tuition. That's not the main point.
He continued to inform me of his holiday activities which included the following:
Boxing class
Karate class
Taekwondo class

His dad even texted me his plans and sent me photos of him in a boxing class drenched in sweat but still posing like a pro fighter in front of the camera.
His caption for the photo was:
I hope my tau gua (tofu) son will become tau pok (deep fried tofu) after these classes.
I burst out laughing. He was so cute. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

This student is looked after by his grandma in the day so she will bring him over for class. Whenever she's in the classroom, she never fails to scold him. She can always pick something to scold him every single time and is always asking us to be stricter because teachers cannot be nice. 😨😧

This is my sis's one. The P1 girl was so cute when she gave her the flower. I can still hear her super cute and sweet voice in my head.

This was from my P4 girl. She's from quite a reputable pri sch and her classmates are v smart (according to her).
I can feel her stress but she's very hardworking. I never scolded her once for not completing her work because I know it's true she didn't have enough time. She will ask her mom to inform me beforehand if she's unable to finish any piece of work and will be v apologetic.
She's also very eager to share little stories that happened in sch. The most recent question she asked me was,

Her friends told her they saw ghosts and shared with her their experience so she got really curious but at the same time very frighten.

Met up with the girls last night. It was supposed to be full attendance, at least it sounded like one until the very last few hours.
Do you really grow apart as you grow up? Or do you stop putting in effort then you grow apart?
I wasn't particularly disappointed since I kind of expected this to happen. I think I've long past the stage of expecting everyone to turn up ever since idk when. Lol.

When I was planning to hold the wedding in Bali initially I had my concerns like if my girlfriends were going to turn up since it's overseas.
I talked to SH about it and she was so optimistic back then. Haha. But she was probably as heck care as me when the rest told us they were not joining anymore.
All their reasons were work related so maybe we should give them the benefit of the doubt?

R is coming back later and he has requested for me to pick him up at the airport so I'll be there later. Going to use my incense while on the bus to catch some pokemons.
Pokemon adventure these 2 days were pretty awesome. I caught a pikachu (which I always only see the shadow) and a super strong snorlax in the centre. Then, at dinner tonight w my family at sun plaza... Wah wah wah, it's a heaven for electric pokemons. I prob caught 6 voltorbs, 6 magnemites, 1 magneton, 1 growlithe, 1 pikachu,
