MUA

I paid the deposit for my MUA. Three days later, she texted me saying she has another booking that was earlier that she didn't remember. Omg! 

Luckily, my wedding is still quite far away otherwise I would really pull out all my hair. 

I found my mua today and paid deposit again already. Let's hope the same thing doesn't happen twice!

My AD morning mua will be Sandy Chen. She was my teacher when I was learning bridal makeup and hairstyling back in 2010. I followed her around for makeup assignments so I know how good she is. Unfortunately, I confirm my date too late, she was already booked for the day. However, we are skipping gate crash so there's no need to start makeup early and hence, she is going to be doing my makeup at around 10am.

My evening mua will be Ponnie Hsu. They're actually friends that's why I know her. I like the styles these Taiwanese MUAs do. It's natural but you still look glam.

R was asking me why can't I do it myself. I think I sent like one million flying daggers towards him with my eyes. 😂 🔪 🔪 🔪 

It's not easy to achieve bridal hairstyle on your own. I can do for normal dinner and all but bridal is on another level. My hands can't possibly twist all the way. Some things you just have to pay.

Lastly, I've engaged Christyn Hoang to do the makeup for my mom, sis and future mil. She was @chasingwaterfalls makeup and I thought it was not bad and her rates are very friendly to the pocket!

Some of my works this month. This is the same sakura tree just without the frame.

My try on watercolor flower. I can't sketch for nuts. Just anyhow draw a little with pencil then I went straight into the paint already. 

Do they sell outlines for people to do their watercolor painting on?

Have been writing a lot of Psalms 91 because this is the one R wants on the wall. I want to write until I get the perfect one to frame up. Now, we just use whatever I did from the post a few days back.

Ray used this as a pen knife base (he has no idea how precious this paper is 😩) so I just use it to finish the paint that was left on the palette to practice my brush calligraphy. 

It is so much easier to write with the pentel sign pen. I have a lot of room for improvement with brush.

CNY2017

 除夕 

Spent chu xi having usual bbq/steamboat with my family in the afternoon then gambled with my family for a bit before leaving to have reunion dinner with Ray's extended family. 

We went to his Mun Suk's place after that and stayed there till 1am. Just sitting around and chatting with people. Not very eventful.

 初一 

Got to my grandma's place the next morning for chu yi bai nian. Everyone was gambling by the time we reached. Idw to sound bad but I told my sis that I dont think I will keep in contact with my maternal extended family after my grandma pass. 

We asked them if they wanted to come for my wedding this dec but informed them that it's not the traditional chinese 10 course, they immediately said they don't know how to eat western food. Well, don't come then don't come lo. 

Left for my 姑姑's place aft

First time playing mj with 姑姑 and it was fun. I haven't played mj in a long time. I won $10 and my sis lost $36 all to my mom. Hahahaha

After mahjong with my mom, 姑姑 and sister, my uncle sent us back and I went to Ray's place for second round of reunion dinner. His mom cooked for everyone on her own. While eating, Ray's 姑姑 casually said that I would or actually both the daughter-in-laws would have to help to cook from the next cny onwards. I bit my lips when she said that 😂

After dinner was the usual 开台 at the living room. This is Ray's cousin's daughter, Clara. She was so cute. She will pout her mouth like this when you do it. Ray didn't managed to catch any good shot so his uncle showed him how to do it. Experienced dad vs noob uncle.

We attempted to take a family portrait though not everyone was here. Ronnie's phone dropped twice to the ground because it couldn't stand on its own from the top of the tv console. I asked raymond to use his camera which he tried to connect it to his phone using nfc for like 5mins while everyone was waiting. Asked him to use timer for the longest time and he only relented after making us wait for 5mins. Haha 😂

He finally got the phone to connect to the camera after half the people left.

 初二 

Went for church service on chu er morning then met my family for lunch at Jalan Kayu where they were introduced to Dum briyani by Ray and they loved it. 

We went for coffee at wildseed cafe so that my family can see our wedding venue. I think the old people can't appreciate the colonial feel of the place and preferred hotel banquet style.

My sister, on the other hand, prefers the restaurant to hotel. She said the place has character. She even suggested to take photo for us at the gazebo so that we can use it for the wedding website that we are intending to set up.

Chu san was spent with Ray's friends for dim sum lunch at Peach Garden OCC.

As usual, everyone was late so we wefie first hahaha

Then, off to Ray's place for some gambling. We even gambled playing Avalon. Haha!
