Archiving Dayre Posts

2 Feb 2017

Back to Australia's trip. Lol. I got too tired during the trip so I stopped dayre-ing.

Anyway, we got to our next national park, Croajingolong. We stopped by at one of the attractions to see kangaroos and hopefully spot seals according to our friend's itinerary.
Kangaroos, yes. Seals, nah.

It was a damn long drive that day and R made me drive the monster for 5mins. I screamed like a mad woman because the vehicle is really f-ing huge and I just dont want to drive so throw some tantrums to get my way. Lol 😂

We stayed at Mallacoota for that night which was another few hours drive. I had to resort to brain teasers to keep R awake. Haha
Had breakfast at a random café because I simply don't feel like cooking or eating home-cooked meal anymore.
The salmon was very fresh but the serving is so huge, i can't finish.
Ray's pancakes which was also not bad.
R.
Look at how tired I looked. Haha. Roadtrip within 10 days jumping around so many places is truly crazy. Don't think we will be so ambitious again.
We went for trekking in Mallacoota area as there was supposed to be some beaches that are very beautiful for f these flies so so so so so so so irritating.
After trekking we drove to Jervis bay which was again damn far so we spent the day driving again. Nothing much happened. Next day was another long long drive to Sydney where we stayed at Blue Mountains. Omg. Such a beautiful place.
We trekked for like another 10km when we were at Blue Mountains and even attempted the Giant stairway. It was 900 steps down of crazy and 900 steps up of insane.

Along the way, some tourists told us it was not worth the trip down and up but we had to see for ourselves and hence we went all the way down to, nothing. Wtf.

Met up with my friend in BKK to have dinner tgt since he was working here. He actually found out that I would be in BKK and arranged for his work trip to be around the same time. Sometimes, friend like this really warms my heart. We may not be in constant contact because of work, growing up and what not but the effort to catch up and not be stranger is really touching.
He treated me to dinner at Karmakamet. In return I bought a bottle of moscato to share but it was so sweet we had to dilute it with water. The salesperson really did not lie when she says it was sweet. Lol

We went to his room to put down the stuff before heading to a good massage but he was so unlucky (we were), his electricity in the room broke down.

We spent a good half hour in the dark waiting for the hotel staff to do smth about it.
The thai massage was really good. I could hear my bones crack when she twisted my body. My whole body felt so relaxed and 'loose' after the massage.

We went back to his room to chit chat and drank diluted moscato. It's amazing how we could just talk as if we were still as close as when we were young. Maybe it was also because it has been such a long time since we chatted hence we had so many things to talk about.

We used to be closer in jc since we were in the same class but no so much aft
graduating. We all moved on with our lives.

It was great finding out about his life, his fiancé's life (my ex-classmate as well), their bto and etc.

One of our old secondary sch friend just 'broke up' with us recently as @chasingwaterfalls described. Lol. It's quite sad how years of friendship can just stop just like that. We were not that close but it still feels quite sad for such things to happen. Well, we all got to move on from that. That's also one of the reasons why I felt so touched
when this particular friend made an effort.

Friendship stuff aside, I'm actually in bkk for R's bro wedding. We are currently in a 3h van ride to KhaoYai. Everything is just so cool. We met up with his extended family and everyone is so nice.

I just met some of them in Melbourne last december and it felt like no time had passed. I also met one new cousin of his that I haven't seen before. It was a little awkward since she's quite ang mo, maybe just the accent, I'll have to work on
talking to people with ang mo accent. Idk why but i just feel like my English is shit instantly and get tongue tied. Really got to work on this inferior complex of mine. Haha!
R and his relatives went for dinner while I met up w my friend. They were so disappointed when I told them I wasn't eating with them. Awwww. But it was ok because my friend said he usually eats alone here. So sian.
The boys then went for bachelor's party which happened at some lup sup place in bkk. R was puking like crazy this morning till afternoon. Everything he ate came out.

Jon, his cousin, told me he had never seen so many boobs at one time before. I didn't know it was so lup sup. Well, guess it's really a bachelor's party.

Do we have those guy striptease hen's night/party in sg? 😉 😉 jkjk

Thames Valley Khao Yai

We woke up the next day for breakfast before heading to khao yai at noon. R came back drunk and puked his guts out the whole day.

He was supposed to be the transport ic for our minivan but he couldn't even do anything. Lol

Jon, the youngest of the band of brothers, came to me and told me he had never seen so many boobs in one night. 😂

We took a 3h long van ride before we reached Thames Valley. This place is so chio!
All the guests suddenly became tourists, we are, but it was phototaking non stop. This place is like a mini Europe in Asia. Plus, the temperature when it reaches night time is around 15 - 17 degrees. So shiok!
This was our room for the first night.
The room is really big. We even have a resting area which can be turned into a 3rd bed for someone else.
Look at Raymond, so happy and finally getting his energy back.
There's a playground just outside our room and R tried to sit on the swing and started swinging. The poles were shaking so vigorously.
Then, he proceeded to wash his feet in the pool. Sadly, we didn't have any time to spend in the pool.
Another photo of the main area.
At night, we proceeded to the restaurant that the couple initially wanted the banquet to be at but didn't managed to because of some issues.

The food is ok but the ambience is awesome. They have a live band playing and the temperature is just so good. We sat outdoors and had a really good time eating and chatting.
The view from my seat.
After that we went back and went to one of thw brother's room to hang out. Supposed to drink again but didn't happened. Supposed to strategise for the gate crash but nothing happened. Lol
The next day was spent touring KhaoYai. We went to the chocolate factory and I bought some back. They are very nice in my opinion.
After that we went to the premium outlet to buy bras.lol It's not the 'premium', the most atas shop is probably Timberland. Haha

Some miscomm happened again with the transport so we had to improvise and got some locals to get taxi for us because popo couldn't get up the bus.
We got back and changed to a villa! I didn't take photos of the villa because I was too busy unpacking and wanted to squeeze a short run before the dinner.
While I was preparing myself for the dinner. R was just fooling around.
Then, he photobombed my selfie.
The dinner was buffet style and we sat with the cousins so it was quite fun. We got to talk and mingle with each other.

Then, idk what happened but people started to use the sound system to sing and the older people started to dance cha cha. It eventually became a sabo session for the couple.
People started to go up the stage to 'dedicate' songs and actually just playing songs that they like because they couldn't take the instrumental baclground music anymore. Lol
More fooling around.
We ended the night in our room. R and Jon went out to get more alcohol for the group but they ended up drinking yakult and eating seaweed. Haha!
We ended the night at around 1 ish 2am because everyone got to wake up early for the gate crash the next day.

I also had to wake up early to do the makeup for R's mom which means I have to wake up earlier to do mine.
They took a long time to start the gate crash because they were having a mini photoshoot.

The morning sun became quite blazing as they started the games. I had to go back to my room to grab my portable fan.
The poor boys had to wear a minion costume over their clothes under the hot sun. They had to do push ups on the bridge with 4 people stacking on top on one another.
The brothers.

#dayrewedding #dayrebrides
After that was tea ceremony where I became the tea cup washer. Lol.

I was really happy when the couple asked me to join in and serve them tea together with R despite their mother's objection. Lol.

The mom is more traditional but the brother and sis-in-law already saw me as family. 😍
On a side note, the thai photographers were all wearing full suits. It was so hot ♨ then, i have no idea how they survived.

We had about 20 minutes to rest after tea ceremony before the solemnisation begins. They did it a second time because some vow was too short and some people didn't like it during the ROM. Lol
And so the vows were repeated for the groom because his was already v long, like R's speech. Haha. Can u see that it's written on a piece of receipt?
The cake just melted in the hot sun. I got tanner after the solemnisation.
We took a family portrait from both the bride and groom side. Look at the sheer number of people who attended the wedding despite it being so inaccessible. 💪
This is R's mom with their 大舅.
The older brothers. Lol.

They were commenting about how R's dad, the one in the centre, looked like a mafia. Haha
We had lunch then back for some rest before preparing for the dinner at a restaurant outside of the hotel.

I did R's mom makeup and hair again.

She was falling asleep during the makeup. I had to hold her forehead with one hand abd blend her eyeshadow with another. Truly a test of my makeup skills and strength of my arms.

This hair that she requested was more complicated so I took quite awhile to complete it. Everyone complimented her makeup and style. I was secretly happy. 😂
They all wanted to take photo with her.

Aunties: 你今天酱美!
R's mom: 今天也是我的大日子!
R's parents
The buffet spread at the restaurant. The whole wedding meals were all buffet style and free seating. No need to fuss over the seating arrangements because people will find their own seats.

We were seated at the 主桌, away from the rest. It was quite boring because R was away helping out so I was stuck there alone. The old people were chatting and R's sis-in-law's sis is not the most chatty person.

I tried to talk but the conversation was killed quickly.
Last minute gathering of the young people to stand on two sides of the aisle to hold on to sparklers which extinguished at lightning speed.
We were discussing at the table about how R sang much better than the band and kepy psychoing him to go up and take over the mic.

R's cousin, Quan, just randomly pulled R up to sing a song that they both know. Like just ran up the stage and grabbed the mic over. 😂

It eventually evolved into R and I dedicating Lucky to them and all the cousins went up to hog the mic. Lol 😁
