4th time in Bali, 1st time in Uluwatu Part 2
/Day 3/
We went to the other resort that we were supposed to stay in for the 3rd and 4th day in the morning.
I had to rush curling my hair and applying the fake eyelashes at Anantara before leaving because we were afraid we might not get a room so early.
But all was fine when we reached Westin Nusa Dua. Ray, being a SPG Platinum member, got us a suite upgrade, early check in and late check out. Woohoo!
☝️I did my own makeup and hair for the casual shoot that we arranged in the afternoon.

I underestimated the heat in Bali because my makeup really stood no chance against the sweltering heat.
It was fine at first at the first location because the wind was very strong. I perspire but my make up persevered. Haha
Lucky I had an updo otherwise I would've melted under the hot sun.
But hiao me have to remove the updo because I changed my clothes so I wanted to change the style too otherwise will look same same.

I looked through so many hair tutorials to get some inspirations before I came for this trip but in the end.... I just did one anyhow.
It turned out quite ok. It's really not easy to create an updo for yourself given that your can't see where the hair is going and how you need to make sure that you look good at all angles.
I brought quite a few accessories but ended up using only one.

So we just nuaed around until 130pm before we decided that we are hungry and ordered two club sandwiches from room service.
Our Photographer, Galih, who is also my friend's brother was supposed to pick us up at 2 ish but he was a little late.
He provided transport for us that day and we went to our first venue, Melasti beach. #dayretravel
We had to pay 200,000 rupiah to take photos there although we were not taking pre wed, just casual shoot.

We didn't take any photos with our phones because the photographer was already taking so no point la.
The photos were very natural on his camera when we saw them so just waiting for him to edit them and send to us by end of June. 😊

We moved on to the next venue, Tegal Wangi beach, after around 30 mins. The ride was pretty fast.
Upon reaching tegal wangi, we saw almost 5 to 6 couples taking pre wedding shoot. Popular place hur.
We had to pay 250000 rupiah to take photos there.
I changed in the car and waited while they got ready. At this point, I was still clueless about what was going to happen.
Ray came back telling me they were ready. Then, off we go.
Upon reaching tegal wangi, we saw almost 5 to 6 couples taking pre wedding shoot. Popular place hur.
We had to pay 250000 rupiah to take photos there.
I changed in the car and waited while they got ready. At this point, I was still clueless about what was going to happen.
Ray came back telling me they were ready. Then, off we go.
Because every other couple was standing at the same place, we went to take under some tree that Galih thought was nice.
At this point, ray had to step on my feet and smear mud all over my toes. But he was sweet enough to clean it up with a piece of leaf.
Oh, it was also super hot here. Like really hot. I kept perspiring like crazy. My makeup really melted like ice cream.
So, the #proposal happened while we were taking photos. I was seriously overwhelmed by the number of things going.

I couldn't process any of the words in the letter like I became illiterate all of the sudden.

Apparently, he requested for the band to sing our song, Lucky.
And I was asked to sing along.
God damn it. My brain stopped again. I can't remember the lyrics at all. Wts.
I hope this doesn't happen during the actual wedding when I have to say my vows.

The whole thing didn't go as he planned and didn't go as I imagined.
I didn't expect my mind to go blank. Why why why why why!
We proceeded to take some photos with the ring and got back up to take photos with the 天灯 that Galih prepared. It was beautiful if you only see the photos and didn't hear me exclaim throughout the whole process while we posed

Holy shit, I knocked the ring on the side of my chair while explaining a word to my student. Omg. I have to be less animated and have less gestures with my left hand.

Financially ready, or not?
Ray mom dropped me off at work this morning. So, we were chatting about ray bro's wedding about when it's going to be and all.
She misheard what I said when I asked her when the brother's wedding is going to be because I remember ray telling me it's going to be 25 to 28 but she said 23 to 25.
Ok, so she thought she heard me saying that Raymond is also going to set the date then because I said Raymond 哥哥 instead of addressing his brother by his name, Ronnie.

This was her initial reaction.
I quickly corrected her and said that I was referring to the brother, not Raymond. Then, she heaved a sigh of relief.
I get why she will have that reaction so it's ok. It's what she said after that got me a little worried.
She just commented about how Ray is not financially ready and shouldn't do it so soon etc. She also continued to say that we should stay with them for a certain period of time otherwise both of them would be lonely.

I'm perfectly cool with staying under one roof for a short period of time but not forever.
I want to have my own place, my own space and somewhere I call my home (under my name).

Plus, r is intending to go study again so means everything has to reset again. And then have to restart this whole financially stable thing so means have to wait again until there's stability.

On a happier note, I was just browsing pinterest for garden wedding inspiration and they're so pretty!
I don't want the usual Chinese wedding style. I want a chill sit down dinner, everyone chit chat with each other, no gate crash, no yum seng kind of nonsense. I want to mingle with my guests, I don't want the mandatory photo with every table.
I want a small wedding where I can invite people I love and people who love me, not people I don't even see in one year or people my parents or his parents want to see.

Ray requested for 150 pax so the total amount came up to a whopping 50k USD!
We don't intend to provide anything except for the dinner and free flow alcohol on the wedding day so I sort of don't expect my guests to give Ang bao also. So, I don't want to spend so much!
I've been trying to ask R to cut the number of guests.
I wonder how much it would be to set the table like this.

I need to record this down.
Helped Raymond with the most mundane job in the world. He said we would leave the office at latest 1130pm but it's now 1152pm already!

I'm not even paid for this. Damn. I was paid with dinner. In fact, I had been benefiting from his free dinner if we don't eat too atas food. So, time for some pay back is it?
BTW, I got him to promise me he will semi-confirm his guest list and if we should or should not hold the wedding in Bali by this weekend since I worked for him.

I sent flowers to R in his office yesterday. Hahaha.
It was a simple engagement present from me.
I thought it would be quite funny for him to receive flowers at work. Haha 😂
And it indeed turned out quite funny. His colleague even took photo him with the bouquet. Lol 😁

I got all the raw photos already. Like very fast. I think because they don't do as much editing in Bali.
They don't make you taller or smooth your skin etc.
Just some NG moments. The PG kept telling us to just chit chat. And ray being ray must have said something funny which made me laugh until so unglam. 😂
