Personal: 24th Birthday from Habitat to Gardens by the Bay to MBS to Ocean Restaurant
I've been very lazy when it comes to blogging. I enjoy times when I just slack on the bed watching my favourite show. Ok, this is going to make me fat. I started running again, hopefully this time it would be something that I do on a regular basis.
Back to my birthday post :) R took me out on a wonderful adventure on my birthday and I am really grateful. It was a tiring but awesome day. He woke up really late, like always, so we had lunch at Habitat Café at around 1pm instead of the original brunch that was planned. As you would already know, Habitat is always packed during weekends and they don't take reservation for small groups much less a couple..tsk. So, we waited at a bakery just a few units down and surprisingly, they serve rather good bread and durian puff!
HABITAT CAFÉ
THE BIG BEN
MOCHA
I ordered Big Ben and a Mocha. R ordered a sandwich which I forgot to take a picture of and we also ordered truffle fries. But the fries came so late (after we finish all our main course), we couldn't finish it so we packed it.
Look here!!!
I saw how greasy the potato pancakes were on my Big Ben and hence I use tissue to try to suck away the oil and wooooooooaaaaahhhhhh! I was shocked! It's like what?! Don't you kind of like put the potato pancakes on some stand for the oil to drip away before you serve your customers?! And so, I really pressed each and every potato pancakes I have on tissue papers so that I don't take in too much of this greasy stuff which really turned my appetite off.

GARDENS BY THE BAY
Then we went to Gardens By the Bay! Yeah! One of the major highlights of the day!
We had always talked about visiting the Gardens but was simple too lazy to make our way there because it's so far! We are so comfortable in our Kampong Yishun and Bayfront is just urrrrhhhhh farrrrrrr!

We went to two domes that day - Flower Dome and Cloud Forest. Remember to bring your IC or Driver's License to get Local Discount.
First up, Flower Dome! After walking through a short tunnel/walkway to reach the conservatory, we were immediately greeted with cool and crisp air, wide variety of greens and beautiful flowers. There are so many different kinds of flowers. While trying to act as if we are professional photographers by taking picture of the same flower in many different angles, 2 hours just flew by without us realising. By then, my feet was hurting already.

Please follow me and enjoy a series of shots of vibrant flowers and be amazed by nature. lol. All photos taken with my awesome S95 :D
R: Hey! Look at how this cactus is shaped like.
X: Hahaha!
Cloud Forest
We hopped over to Cloud Forest where the world's tallest indoor waterfall is. This conservatory is much colder than the other one.
You can go up to the highest level to take the cloud walk. You will basically walk on metal that has holes and it's really scary to look down if you're afraid of heights. I was trying to walk faster so that I can complete the walk but noooo..there are flowers by the side which I want to take pictures of and there are children who were running around like they are on normal ground.
After taking the two walks, Cloud walk and Tree Top walk, we went to +5 Degrees where you will take a virtual tour on how the climate and live changes as the global temperature increases over the years. This is a really enriching and educational experience. It's like watching a documentary only that it is in mega huge screens.
MBS
3rd stop of the day was at MBS, we went there for tea and TWG partly to have some drink because we forgot to bring water bottles with us and was dehydrated, and partly to rest our tired legs. I ordered two rose macaroons! They are delicious!
Then, after getting my birthday present from Sephora (hohoho) we made our way back to the Gardens to get the car to go to Ocean Restaurant.
Just look at the breathtaking scenery while walking back from MBS.

They are so pretty! Surprisingly, my handphone camera captured better pictures of the lights.
Ocean Restaurant
Last stop of the day ended at Ocean Restaurant. It is located at Sentosa, RWS.
What's so special about the Ocean Restaurant? You get to sit beside the main aquarium of SEA Aquarium for dinner! Awesome experience!
We had the company of Mr Flying Ray
Mr Sturgeon and many more.
The sharks are less active, constantly swimming at the floor of the aquarium. But we had the company of many other fishes :)
So these are what we ordered. They had a minimum spending of $58 per pax. It is fine dining... I've never been to any fine dining place but this place really blew my mind (with the view). I wouldn't say I like the food but maybe because I am a kampong girls who's so used to cheap food in large proportions, the food here is just......too little. HAHA!

The whole restaurant is rather small and cosy. You have to make reservation otherwise I don't think you'll get a seat. It was full even when we went at 8:45pm. We had a reservation at that time but only got our seat at around 9pm. They close at 10pm.
This ray here was swimming so slowly and totally begging for a selfie with me. HAHA
I got a free cake because it's my birthday! Yay!
It was a wonderful experience and I love it! Thank you so much!
