Makeup | Review: Glitter Makeup from Day to Night | MUA Multi-use Palette

I've had this palette for quite some time but it has been tucked away in the depths of my drawer. I wanted to do a review on this palette months ago but I didn't get the chance (the time to be exact). Jy bought this for me from UK and it was really cheap, £6.
Shades from left to right, top to bottom: Pistacho, Mocco, Ice, Grape, Chocolate, Cookie, Pink Sparkle, Prim Rose, Bronzed, Shimmer Kiss

So, since I'm rather free these days because of the holidays and my pure laziness to find makeup customers. LOL. I could be doing makeup at bridal shops like how my teacher suggested but I'm just too timid to take on so much responsibilities. Should I? Anyway, back to this. I thought why not create a look with this palette while I do a review on it, right? So here it is - A glitter makeup that can take you from day to night with very simple touch up and additional strokes to make it suitable for a dinner party.

Before | After: Day Look

Before | After: Night look

The pigmentation is above average, the swatches below are all swatched once only. The colours are visible but they are slightly chalky.

I'm not really a fan of the bronzer, it's slightly too dark for my liking and the blushers are so pigmented. You have to be really careful when you apply because you might become a monkey's butt if you simply put it on your face without flicking some of the product off.

Using a flat brush, take some of chocolate (remember to tap off any excess), gently press it on the outer corners, slowly and carefully blend it to almost the middle part of the lids. If you have double eyelids or multiple eyelids like me, make sure the colour goes above the double eyelid line otherwise when you open your eyes, you won't see anything. Tip is to always look straight into the mirror to make sure you're within the zone. I prefer not to go too high up because you might look like you're going to be a ge-tai singer/唱戏的.

Then, you can use the same brush but on the other side, take some mocco, a shimmery beige and sweep it from the inner corner of your eyes to the middle part where it meets chocolate. Blend those two colours together, blurring the distinction between the two colours in the middle.

Next, take s brown eyeliner and line both your water line and lash line. I like mine slightly drawn downwards at the end so that it gives an innocent look but not so much that you look like a bull dog. heh.

To complete the eye makeup, I curled my lashes and generously applied a volumising mascara.

As you can see, I actually applied some chocolate and mocco in the same proportions on my lower lash line but I'm very particular with day look is that it has to look as natural as possible meaning the colours for the lower lash should not be too obvious so just sweep it across with a light hand. Lasly, I applied some glitter eyeliner on the middle portion of my lower lash line but my camera wasn't able to catche the sparkle. :( In any case, just make sure you can see the slight sparkle with you eyes and you'll be fine. This is supposed to be a wearable day look.

Then, with some magic double eyelid tape, I matched my left eye's eyelid to my right eye's. As you can see from the photos above and this one on the left that my double eyelid on my left eye is of a different height from my right eye's. My right eye's double eyelid is slightly higher so I matched my left eye's by sticking it higher.

Day to Night transformation.

What I did was to use a black liquid eyeliner and drew it over the brown one that I applied before. However, since this is a night look, you can make it more obvious and so apply it higher up but not over the double eyelid line. I would suggest leaving approximately 0.2-0.3cm gap between the eyeliner and the double eyelid line. It is just an estimation. Draw one that matches your eyes the best. It comes with practice. I also used a black pencil eyeliner and went across my lower lash line. It should be thicker on the outer corners and tapering as it goes nearer to the inner corners. I also made the glitter eyeliner more obvious and this time round it was be captured by the camera :)

If you like, you can do all those contouring by sucking in your cheeks and apply a bronzer over the hollows of your cheeks. If you're slightly chubby like me, take the bronzer across your jaw line to give you a smaller face. If you have flat nose like me (damn, my face is full of imperfections. LOL), apply the bronzer down the sides of your nose then take some highlighter across the bridge of your nose as well. For the night look, I would suggest putting highlighter on the brow bone, high points of the cheeks, cupid's bow and chin if your face shape is similar to mine :) This way your face will be lengthened and will look a lot smaller than the normal one.

Also, since I used very natural brown eyeshadow for the eyes, it will go well with almost all different shades of lip colour so just go with the one that you like. I'm really into coral nowadays :)
