Ryzer: Marché and About Time Movie
Date night with Raymond at Vivo City's Marché last Saturday. We were welcomed by huge pumpkins and little decorated oranges when we entered the restaurant. They were extremely cute. The children queueing in front of us were really fascinated by the designs. I love it when restaurants decorate their place according to the festive season.
Here's a huge spider that the little boys were most interested in because it is hairy, black and SCARRRYYY! hahhaha
Oh mann, this is such a bad shot. Look at my cheeks! They are over-flowing...
Of course I was going to have Salmon Rosti. After the not so satisfying plain rosti from Ambush, I really wanted to eat this! But it's $17.50! Ok, the smoked salmon are expensive but I don't think the potatoes are. I like them any way.
One last photo of us before we dig in! Idk why but this photo made my arms look ridiculously skinny and small in comparison to my head. i guess it's the angle. I have 大头!
We shared another Paella together before we call it a night at the restaurant.
The Paella was good in my opinion but R found it to be rather tasteless. He said it was just salty and has no other flavour. Well, I guess different people really have different taste preference.
After which i went for a retail therapy at H&M. Just less than 30 mins and poof! $90 gone. But I felt really good after that. I guess buying clothes from a physical shop is really different from online shopping. The immediate gratification from the shopping is simply "爽"! No other words can describe what I felt than this. SONG AR! hahahahah!!! Yep, I'm cheeeenaa like that.
Then, off we went back to Yishun to catch a movie. About Time. I saw a facebook friend recommending this show last week and has been asking R to watch with me but he was reluctant.
Featuring Domhnall Gleeson as Tim (lead character) and Rachel McAdams as Mary (Tim's wife), this is a time traveling show. Tim's family has a secret. The male descendants of the family can time travel to the past. Tim was a nobody before he knew he could time travel just by clenching his fists in a dark room. After knowing that family secret from his dad, he used his special powers to get a girlfriend and the one who eventually became his wife is Mary.
The whole point about this show is how despite having this special power, he was unable to maximise the full use of it to spend more time with his dad. You can't go back to time when someone is not born yet because it will screw up the future. Tim tried it when his sister got into an accident which resulted in him having a baby boy instead of a baby girl, Posy.
His dad, played by Bill Nighy, whom I found to be extremely familiar (he played as the Minister in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows) had terminal cancer. He wanted to spend more time with his son during his final days, just relieving the moments when they played table tennis together. So, even after his death, Tim was traveling back in time to play table tennis with his old man. But eventually, his 3rd child was on the way and he couldn't travel back anymore. This is the saddest part because in exchange for his new baby, he can't go back in time to see his dad anymore despite having the ability. It made me cry very badly.
Sometimes when things get bad, you feel like you want to go back to change things but you can't because you cannot time travel. In this case, you can't go back even when you can because of another person who's equally important. But the thing about it is that nobody can time travel, at least not that I know of, cherish the time you have with the people around you. You never know when you can't have any more time with that special someone.
