Ryzer | Food: Communal | 12 N Canal Road

That one fine Saturday when I was free from tuitions and work.

We went to Communal after being recommended by Raymond's friends. It was rather pricey and the bill came up to about $50 per pax but I thought the food was really good.
There were counter seats/bar top counter and also normal dining tables which really reminded me of the States when I was traveling last year. Fond memories har...
I love how you can see the chefs cook your food right in front of you because the kitchen is outside too! At least you know they won't spit in your food if you were rude to them or being too demanding. But I guess that would not be a problem since they adopt the American style of service which means they will come round your table and ask how's the food, how you're doing and etc.
Yes, Raymond is obsessed with his phone. I cannot emphasize more. Awww...he's looking at our photo!
Narcissism starts now!

I really look very fat and I actually feel fat. I want to slim down but I can't stop myself from eating food that I like. Damn! EXERCISE WOMAN!!!

Ok, so here's what we ordered. For soup, we ordered their soup of the day which was a mushroom soup.

For mains, we had Boston Lobster Mac and Cheese
and Fried chicken. All recommended by his friends.

Of course, ice water and soft drinks!

This came as a complimentary treat from the restaurant and it was fabulous. Though the size is petite, it was really nice of them to offer us.

So, here's the cream of mushroom that we had. They were really nice. They asked if we were sharing and separated one big bowl into two small bowls for us so it'd be easier to drink. How thoughtful!

I'm not a big fan of cheese so I only took a few mouthful of this. I really like how the lobster meat was cooked with the pasta. I was expecting to see the whole lobster with the shells and everything but it came peeled. Another thumbs up for lazy people like me!

Their fried chicken which I thought was so-so only. Not that fantastic or maybe Raymond set the standards too high when he raved about this restaurant. I would say it is savory and tasty but definitely not the best fried chicken I've had. Side note: My S95 takes quite presentable photos :)

Lastly, for dessert we had Chocolate soufflé with Strawberry ice cream. Yum! This was the first time I had a soufflé. I remember the first time I saw a soufflé was on the TV show Master chef and I was really impressed. They described it so well that I really wanted to try.

Overall, it was a really good experience. I love the ambience and the food. I will definitely go back in the future.
