Makeup: Powerpuff Girls Makeup Tutorial for Halloween
I'm going to show you how to recreate this easy and simple powerpuff girl makeup. S came up with the idea to dress up as power puff girls since there were 3 of us and it was sort of easy to recreate the looks when we googled it. We had a trial run at Jy's place to perfect the try out and perfect the look 1 week before we went to Zouk last Saturday. When I got home, I tried the makeup on myself just to see how it'd look like when one does it on her own face so that we can do it on ourselves on the actual day and save more time.
Always do the outline first so that it'd be easier to fill in the colours later.
I suggest using this eyeliner pencil from Lancôme because it is creamy and the pencil lead is hard enough so that it doesn't break when you drag it on your face especially on certain edges that are harder to get into. I tried using the K-Palette one but it just keeps breaking. Of course, before you even draw on anything, you have to have the primer on so that the eyeliner and eyeshadow will not stray. You can use Urban Decay's eye primer potion or any other eyeshadow for that matter as long as it keeps the colours on for a long time because you'll be walking around and dancing in the club a lot.
Next, fill in the gaps that are supposed to be white and red/green/blue with a eye pencil. Then also draw in the two white circles to act as your "anime pupils" or the glimmer in your eyes.
This is the one we used and it was awesome. The colour payoff is good, it acts as a base and it doesn't break! Plus! It's CHEAP!
Lastly, fill in the colours with eyeshadow.
I used the MUFE's 12 Flash Color Case because I wanted a good colour pay off and this is the best I have. Then, I used the same black eyeliner pencil to fill in the rest of my eye area.
Pop on some red ribbon and you'll be Blossom!
So this is the eyeshadow palette that I used to set the eyeshadows with. The MUFE's flash color is rather creamy and wet so it doesn't really go well if you immediately throw on the powder eyeshadow. Give it some time to dry then pat on these colourful babies to seal the eyeshadows.
On that day we actually all did our own makeup but we got each other to help draw the outline because it's just so much easier when someone can draw it for you accurately when your eyes are closed.
We simply got these tank dress which are $10 each from Bugis Street in the powerpuff colours and black tubes which act as the black sash(or smth) that they have on their waists. We wanted to complete the look with high white socks but we couldn't find it in the end so we just threw on black ballet flats and we were good to go. Oh ya, I made their hair up for them. Isn't it cute?!
In any case, we went as zombie powerpuff so this is actually the clean version before we dirtied the look with black and purple eyeshadow and fake blood.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
