Makeup: Halloween - Ventriloquist inspired by Billy

Like I mentioned on my facebook last week, I was really inspired and itching to start recreating these wonderful halloween makeup from youtube. Though not a 100% replica, I had my own inspiration picture that I follow. I remember watching a horror ventriloquist movie called Dead Silence with Raymond earlier this year on Funshion. So, this makeup recreation is mostly inspired by the movie.

This is the poster for the movie. It is scary, watch at your own risk. But then again, I'm a scaredy cat so I'm afraid of all horror movie. hahahh...
This is a clearer picture of the doll in the show. His name is Billy and he is a murderer.

Some before pictures for you to compare. There is definitely a difference though no that close of a resemblance. I recreated this look within 30 minutes so it is definitely something you can create with your normal cosmetics. Nothing special here, promise. First, put all your hair back if you have long tresses like me:) I tried to make it clean and slick like the one on the doll. Just spray some water, comb everything to the back, secure with bobbie pins, spray some hair spray and you're good to start!

I am quite tan in comparison to the doll so I used this BB cream which may look dark but when applied on is really too fair for me. I mixed it with Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base.

To speed things up, I like to dot it around my face then spread it evenly with a sponge or with clean fingers.

However, I still found the foundation to be slightly too tan so I used Naturactor cream foundation in 130 which is really really fair. I spread it on my face using Real Techniques Experts Face Brush which I totally adore for foundation application. This is the final result. I tried to conceal my lips so that the colour that I apply on it will pop later on.

When you look at the doll's eyebrows, they are very drawn on and they are totally black. So, this is almost the most simple step. Use a very dark black eyeliner pencil and draw it on. It doesn't need to be perfect.

Next, I use my Body Shop Bronzer and MAC's 224 Brush to create the shadow under the cheeks to make it more realistic. The doll has really high cheeks, not that mine are not high enough but I wanted to make it more obvious. Simply smile and brush the powder across the underside of your cheeks.

As you can see from the picture of the doll, it has really dark eye makeup around the eyes and the radius is rather big. So, I use Maybelline's gel liner in black and lined it around my eyes generously. There's no need to be neat or nice or symmetrical.

Because you will smudge it with a matte black eyeshadow using a fluffy brush. I suggest using MAC 217 brush. Spread and buff it till you get the shape you want. For me, I prefer to go with my natural eye shape. You can always use a Q-tip/cotton bud to rub off any parts that you don't like. Then, I drew on the black lines by the side of my mouth to my chin with a black eyeliner and popped on some red lipstick. I suggest applying with a lip brush for precision. You can always put on some concealer around the eyes and lips to clean up any mess. After that just set them with a loose poweder.

After which, I applied some pink blush from Majolica Majorca to give my cheeks some flush. It's washed out by the lights but you don't need to have it too dark if you don't like. It's totally up to you.

Some photos I took while putting on the makeup. Oh, I also brushed some of the bronzer along the sides of my nose to give it more dimension though not so obvious here because the lights were too bright.

When you draw the lines down, remember to draw it all the way down so that it's more realistic because this is how they can open their mouths. hehehehe.

I tried posing with a sinister look but it was really hard. The photos here are the best already.

Hope you like this ventriloquist halloween makeup pictorial tutorial:)
