Makeup: Simple day-time look for a date
Just a short and simple day look for a date with R. Sharing with you the products that I used for this look and some tips and tricks. So, as you can see from the photo on the left, my troubled skin problem is back. I've been quite lazy with my beauty routine these days because I've been staying over at R's place. I don't have all my stuff there (excuses....i'm just lazy!)

Put on those coloured contact lens before you start your makeup! It has become one of my most important makeup staple when I put on makeup because it really makes a lot of difference. Then, I would use my Rhoto cooling eye drop to wet my eyes because I am extremely prone to dry eyes! I can't wear my contact lens for more than probably 5-6 hours a day even if it's a daily contact lens like this.
See the difference? My eyes look larger and I definitely look more awake.
Before I even move on to my base makeup, I like to condition my lips with vaseline first.
This will help make my lips more moisturised and the lip colour to go on smoothly.
Because of my oily-combination skin type, I cannot skip this step if I ever want my makeup to last for one whole day. PRIMER! It is extremely important and I used Maybelline's Baby Skin Pore Eraser to mask the big pores and prime my skin for the base makeup.
I wanted to keep my base makeup light because of the hot day ahead and so I opted for a BB cream instead of the conventional liquid foundation. Although foundation was going to give me more coverage, I thought BB cream be lighter for a day look. I didn't want to look too cakey.
And so, this is me with just the BB cream. I've been wanting to try those new CC creams but haven't had the time to go look at more reviews before I invest my money in one. As you can see, I sill have dark eye circles and blemishes, though less obvious than before, to cover.
This is my ultimate secret weapon when it comes to concealing. I have not come across any other concealer with such powerful coverage. Of course, with coverage comes thickness which is why I chose BB creams instead of foundation. This is so I won't look like I piled on a million layers of foundation.
Next, I used my L'Oreal true match concealer to cover my dark eye rings just because I think the MUFE's one is too thick for under eyes. MUFE's tend to crease on my under eye probably because it is slightly thick for me. This true match one is definitely one of the better drugstore concealer out there. It is much much cheaper in comparison to the MUFE's one. But I would say the coverage is definitely not as good as the MUFE's. Also, MUFE's concealer stays on for one who day for me. The duration is amazing! So, if you have stubborn discolouration, blemishes, scars or etc, MUFE's Full Coverage concealer would be a wonderful choice! No joke!!!
This is after covering almost everything up. I have to clarify that concealer is meant to make the colour the same, i.e. remove any redness and dark eye rings. It will not make your skin smooth and thus, don't expect to see extremely smooth complexion after application of concealer.

Then, I used the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder to set my base makeup. I have been loving this drugstore powder after buying it in the States. I got to know this powder from one of my favourite youtube makeup/beauty guru Tanya Burr.
Next, I always fill in my brows before applying any eye makeup/blusher/bronzer. I love to fill in the gaps which helps to frame my face. Also, without brows, one would really look older. If you want a more youthful look, make your brows thicker and fuller than usual. Additionally, you have to make it straight.
This is the typical example of thick, full and straight korean brows. It has been extremely popular and almost all the Korean pop stars spot this kind of brows. This is Yoona from SNSD! So pretty right!!! This kind of natural makeup is also very popular in Korea now.
For me, I still prefer to go with my natural brow shape though I tried to make it slightly straight at the front. I still kept my brows going downwards at the end.
Just to show you the importance of having brows filled in, this is a side by side comparison. The photo will speak for itself.
Next, after my brows, I went on to draw my eyeliner. I like to draw my lashline and waterline with a pencil eyeliner and in particular, the K-Palette Real Lasting Eyepencil. This is definitely one of the best eyepencil I've used. It's much cheaper than the high-end ones and it is smudge-proof. Even with my oily lids, it stays on pretty well without any eye primer. So, imagine me priming my eyes before applying this baby...it's invincible!
Then, I move on to draw a thicker eyeliner with my Maybelline Gel Liner which by far a very well-loved gel liner by me :) I tried the MAC one (brown) but I still prefer this one. The brush that comes along in the packaging is awesome as well. It applies so beautifully, you don't even have to use a liquid liner to make it precise. The brush will do it for you provided you have a pair of steady hands :)
There you go, see the difference? With and without eyeliner makes quite a huge difference as well. My eyes are larger and by filling in the lashline and waterline, it gives the illusion of thick lashes which I don't have. LOL!
Then, pop on some beautiful rose gold blusher and you're good to go. This is Orgasm by NARS. I did not apply mascara for the day look because I was too lazy to remove them. It takes longer to remove the makeup when you have mascara one. You also have to be a lot gentler around the eyes area when removing mascara because you don't want to be pulling out your lashes as they will not grow back!
Then, off you go for you date with your love one :) I had a great meal with R at Communal last Saturday which I will blog about soon. Till the next! See ya!
