MIA
Oh man. I've been neglecting this space for a long time! June was packed with crazy number of tuition. July is here but seems like it's flying away so quickly. 2.5 weeks into school life and I must say most of the part is still enjoyable. Of course, there are times when I feel like giving up, like I'm not appreciated.
The other teachers told us that they are really impressed with how much work we are putting in as relief teachers. Are we?
The students don't understand that I am not paid to stay back with them but I still did because I have to complete the syllabus so they can handle the tests. I'm not here to complain but I only truly understand how my own teachers felt when we made those insensitive remarks back then. So much effort and work had to be put into one short ppt. I don't even put the same level of effort when I was studying.
I'm just going to ramble on and on because it's really funny to look at what I type here 10 years later. Just yesterday I was looking through my posts back in 2009 and I find myself hilarious.
Back to teaching, I just went into another class from sec 3 today and it was a bad experience. How exciting to have a fight in such a short 35 mins relief?! Apparently, one of the boys made a very terrible remark about another student's nationality. At the age of 15, they are still unable to gauge how far they can go when criticising or making nasty remarks about another person. I am utterly disappointed and felt really sad for the boy who has to go through the same things every single day. Not from 1 classmate but from almost half the class.
My own class....let's just say there are good days and bad days. But I do find it very challenging to teach NA classes, especially 3 periods straight. Someone please buy me pi pa gao! I don't know why they can be so okay when I interact with them 1 - 1 but in class it's just havoc.
Alright, till all hell breaks lose.......
