Personal: Montigo Resort Batam

This is my second trip to Batam and it's with Raymond, Jingyi, Serene and Lionel. We were just chatting about going overseas together and BAM, booked Montigo Resort in a few days and off we went to this wonderful little resort. It is still in construction for part of the resort so it's actually a soft launch only. For 5 pax, we paid S$110 per pax for one night only. It's quite pricey plus there's nothing much to do there other than swimming and cooking which were what we did.

On the ferry on the way to Batam Centre to do our groceries shopping. I know some things are cheaper overseas but I didn't know it would be that much cheaper. I recently bought a Rhoto eye drop from Sg's guardian for S$8+ and it is actually priced at only about S$3 for a Rhoto eye drop (cooling version which is even better because it's not sold in Sg)!!! WHAT?! I bought 2 at one go. HAHA.

We were welcomed to the resort with a cooling drink which is super nice (maybe because the weather is freaking hot).
While Serene was doing the check-in, the rest of us just walked around the lobby and R started taking his Looking at things photos. LOL

The sky was clear and as you can see, these are the terraces that we stayed in.

Standard tour photo.

Let me show you around, this is a mini kitchen which was beside the living area. There is a total of 3 different levels where the living room, kitchen and pool are located in level 1, bedrooms in level 2 and roof top at level 3.

A weird wooden ornament which I really don't understand why it was there. I took a closer look at it and look at what I found...

A SPIDER!!!! Can you see that white colour spider?

This is the master bedroom which is super big. R, Jy and I shared this room. The toilet is like WOW! bigger than my own bedroom. LOL.

There's a small room for you to use the toilet bowl, a shower room and a freaking hugeass bathtub outside which has a glass ceiling so you can look outside! Cool shit!

This is the other guest room where S and L stayed.

Their toilet which is so small in comparison to the master bedroom's.

The girls exploring the kitchen and putting in our drinks so that it's chilled.

Look at how chill R was laying on the sofa. HAHA
Lastly, the POOL!!!

Before we came, JY and S went to Toy 'R' us to buy these floats.

A failed beer advertisement but look at how happy R is in this photo!

We bought some shitake mushrooms, small potatoes, pasta and etc to cook dinner. In any case, the focus is on R for the next photo as well. Just look at what he's trying to do.

They didn't provide us with the normal knife so we had to use those for eating western food when you go coffee shop. It was blunt but luckily, shitake mushrooms are quite soft.

Ta-dah! Our dinner whipped up by Jy and me. A mushroom pasta with sauteed potatoes and potatoes eggs pancake (I forgot the name of it, it's some spanish dish that JY prepared)

Just hanging around after dinner because the rest went to bathe.

Yay! While Jy was distracting me upstairs by chatting with me, they were secretly ordering a cake for me. Yummy!

Dear serene and jingyi even bought something for me and they hid it somewhere in the room for me to find.

It's a super sexy wine red dress from H&M. Thank you girls. I adore the dress, especially the colour :)
After that we just drank (I didn't, wasn't feeling well) and played some games. Poor R had to drink for me. HAHA.

I can't remember what time it all ended but when only R and I were in the room, he was gone and I was still awake....I heard something....The window locked and unlocked itself for a few times, almost 1 minute of locking and unlocking. I was so scared, I didn't dare to approach it so I just ignored and try to make myself sleep. LOL. Scaredy cat...

Last few group photos before we go back to Sg...

If you're interested, you can visit http://www.montigoresorts.com/ for more information about the resort :) It's quite clean and I quite love the holiday feel. But I think it's quite pricey.

Hi! We just took a cab from Batam centre. It costed us about <100k rupiah. I can't remember how much we paid exactly but you have to bargain. Ask for a few prices before agreeing on one. They sort of have a fix price chart at the "taxi counter" but negotiable :)

Did the resort charged for the 5th guest?
Unknown said…
Hi, we used rupiah and sadly, they did charge extra for the 5th guest. It was around $100 ++.

Hello!

There's no bed for the 5th person right?
Unknown said…
Hey! They have many sofas that are big enough for sleeping and the hotel staff will bring extra pillows and blanket for you when they know there's a fifth person or you can just call them :)

Did you buy the alcohol over at Batam or SG? If from Sg bring it over, do we get taxed over at their customs?
Unknown said…
Hey Chloe, we bought it from DFS before we board and we did not get taxed. I guess you won't get taxed if u bought it from DFS, not 100% sure though..
