Favorites: February 2013
It has been awhile since I did a monthly favourites post. Basically, these are the products that I reach out to the most for the past month and I have been loving them so much. I have already done in-depth review for some of the products or a short introduction during my haul posts.
I've already embedded the link to the in-depth review of the product so I'm not going to go into great details about it.
I have been using it very regularly, almost on a daily basis. I slap this on before I go out when I have absolutely no makeup on. It helps to keep my face shine-free for a good couple of hours.
Otherwise, I also love to use this as a makeup base when I'm just going for a light makeup for a normal day. It works pretty well as a base. It leaves a smooth/velvety finish so foundation/BB creams can glide on easily.
However, if you're going for a flawless makeup, I would suggest you use a proper foundation primer instead of this. Overall, it works really well as a sunscreen. ^^
#2 Rexona Deodorant
I did not buy this roll-on deodorant, Raymond gave it to me. He got it in a goodie bag when he went for some career thingy by Unilever.
I have the spray deodorant and I love the smell of it. This one, however, has taken over the place of my spray deodorant. It keeps my arm pits dry and smells absolutely amazing!
I can literally smell my arm pit when I lift my hands up :X and it would smell super nice!!!!! I can't describe how long and amazing the smell stays on. I had other deodorants but the smell doesn't last. This is just WOAH!
It saves me the embarrassment of having pit-stains when I perspire (I perspire more than a normal person, ultra active sweat glands). This is a wonderful wonderful product. I will definitely repurchase this when I'm out of it.
I introduced these two sets of brushes in one of my USA haul posts. I ordered them from Amazon.com and shipped to R's house in the States. I have been using these brushes when I do makeup tutorials (not many but I still use them) These brushes are amazing. I was going to retire my old brushes which I still keep. I don't usually throw away my brushes. I clean them and reuse them. If the hair is still intact and still feels soft and nice, I don't see the need to toss them out. Be friendly to the environment!
Generally, these brushes feel super nice and gentle on the skins and eyes. I feel like I am pampering my face when I use them. It's definitely a very good start-up set for amateurs to use as it has all the brushes you need to get a beautiful look.
Although I'm really keen to try out new brushes, they are generally quite pricey. I got a MAC 217 brush from Sephora at SGD$39! WTH! With that money, I can already get 1 set of these real techiques brushes. But to be fair to MAC, 217 is a awesome brush.
I recently did a makeup blog post on how to conceal stubborn pimples and pigmentation with these 2 products. Yeah! They are DA BOMB! Especially the concealer, the pigmentation and concealing power is definitely worth 10/10! I have been loving and using these two combinations when I go visit my relatives during CNY or out on dates with R. Roll over to the other blog post to see how I used them.
#5 Essie's nail polish in Where's my Chauffeur
I am in love with this mint green colour!
This nail polish is awesome. The consistency of the colour and the pay-off are definitely one of the best I've had.
I will usually apply a base coat first then apply two coats of this polish and finish off with a fast-drying top coat.
The result is simply lovely.
#6 Nail tools
Last but not least, as you can see from my previous posts, I have been playing with my nails more frequently than before. I got really addicted to some nail-gurus' youtube channels and wanted to try out some of the nail tutorials that they have.
I got the dotting tool from Sasa and the brushes from Konad, same place as my makeup train case.
With the nail tools, it makes it a lot easier to create these beautiful nails. If I can DIY, I don't see the need to visit a manicurist except maybe to remove my cuticles which I haven't quite master the skills to.
