Haul: Nail Polishes
HAUL | Nail Polish
This post will kick start a series of Haul posts on beauty/vanity products that I bought from the States. One of my main source of happiness when I visit the States is that I can buy these products at amazingly affordable prices. Also, some of the products can't be found in Singapore. Even if I want to buy online, nail polishes can't be flown over. :(
First up! These 2 sets of nail polishes are from F21 and they only cost about USD$8+ per box which is considered quite cheap since there are like 7 bottles per box. I haven't tried them yet so I'm not going to comment about the quality. I will probably come up with a Manicure Monday series to introduce these different nail polishes. What do you think?
I did not used to like putting on nail polishes as I find it a hassle to remove them and I hate the smell of nail polish removers that contains acetone. Though I love visiting the manicurist once in a while to pamper myself which is quite a rare event like once a year? haha! It's definitely getting cheaper to go for manicure but I'm just not those gentle girls or you can say "yu xiu" in hokkien. My nail polises tend to be scrapped or scratched off with 2 to 3 days. So, at the end of the day, it's a waste of money. As for gelish that lasts longer...hmmm...I think it damages my poor nails which are already very soft when removing. I don't think I would go for gelish manicure again. I'm also skeptical about the UV machine which is used to dry the nail polish. I find it very scary to shine UV light in such close proximity to my skin.

I finally got my hands on these essie nail lacquer!!! Excited much! I've heard so much about this brand from many different youtube beauty gurus. It's not exactly very cheap but the quality is really awesome! The photos below show the colours of these polishes when applied on my nails. Note, these are done without base coat and top coat. PLUS! It's only 1 layer. The brushes' quality are good as well. I find the consistency to be not bad, not bad :)
If you're thinking of buying this brand when you visit the States, you can easily find it at Target, CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens etc. Basically any drugstore in USA will carry it! I bought it from Target where there was really many many selections. If I'm not wrong, Revlon, Maybelline, OPI and etc all have their own line of nail polishes. There's a very affordable brand called wet 'n' wild as well. W&W is really dirt cheap though I didn't buy any.

I'm sorry you have to look at my wrinkly fingers with dried and ugly cuticles and nails that are not trimmed properly. I'm just not as hardworking when it comes to nails and hands. I've already started to use hand creams recently, I hope it's going to help smoothen my ugly hands. Too much ball games in the past probably caused these hideous fingers. HAHA! You might not believe it but I used to be a very outdoorsy person. Surprise surprise! I turned out to be such a vain girl now which I am not ashamed of.
More posts will be up every other day (I try). I also want to quickly post up all these entries from 2012. Till the next post!
See you!
