The Walking Dead: Made to Suffer

The mid season finale episode was both exciting (as always) and infuriating (like the last few episodes). With the introduction of some new characters, Tyreese (Trademark - Hammer) and group, I think it will definitely spice up the second half of the season in February (OMG, why so long?!) However, I do detest the fact that they have been killing off their characters so easily and frequently this season, Oscar was shot while trying to save Glenn and Maggie.

I'm just going to split this post up into two parts: Prison and Woodbury, for easy viewing and for me to recall as well. They ended this mid season rather well but I would rather some other people died :X

Prison

The show started by showing how Tyreese killed the walkers with his hammer and how one of the woman from his group got bitten. They continued their escape with her slowing them down but her husband refused to leave her. The walkers would tear her apart if she was left alone. But if you were bitten, what would you do? Would you rather risk the possibility of dragging your whole group down with you or suffer alone? I guess she had the best ending that anyone would have wanted, not dragging everyone down and she can die in one piece.

Tyreese and group escaped from a herd of walkers while in the woods and managed to seek refuge at the Prison where they easily entered from the back. (WHAT?! Just like that?!) I recall Oscar and Axel complaining in one of the earlier episodes when they begged to stay with Rick and group instead because they weren't able to dispose the dead bodies. They said that their courtyard was infested with walkers and that the back was not safe. So, why didn't they try clearing the place up and close up that hole? It's like them asking for another zombies attack! Then again, if it's closed up then Tyreese and group wouldn't be able to get in and meet them. So ya, forgiven.

Meanwhile, Axel was being a total asshole/pervert trying to flirt with Beth who is only 17. Yucks! In my mind I was like, "Old man! Just fuck off! They took you in so you better behave!" To add on to his foolishness and idiocy, he thought Carol was a lesbian because she has short hair. (WHAT?! *rolls eyes X 3*)

Carl heard noises coming from outside of their cell and Hershel said it would probably be the walkers trying to break in. He stopped Carl from going when he wanted to go check it out but Carl insisted to go. I like how Carl is acting like an adult and taking the lead. He has the guts! (*salutes*) He found Tyreese and group in the generator room trying to fight off walkers and he quickly got in to help by busting the head out of a walker who was attacking Sashay (tyreese's sister, I presumed).

He then led them to a safe place which he locked them away from his group. Sashay went all crazy and bitchy trying to make Carl open up and let them in. She made a hell lot of noise and acted like a total ungrateful bitch! She should be thanking Carl for helping them, instead she shouted and scolded them. (*rolls eyes*) Luckily, Tyreese was the sane and reasonable one. He stepped in and stopped her. He reminded her that they're much more safe than when they were out in the woods. That's the way man!

Woodbury

It was much more exhilarating at Woodbury where Rick and group sneaked in through one of the buildings which Michonne found. Again, why is it so easy to get in and walkers didn't? Meanwhile, Glenn and Maggie were finding the right opportunity to escape and Glenn was a total genius. He broke off the dead walker's arm and used his bones as a weapon for Maggie and himself. Maggie stabbed one of the Woodbury guys with that bone in the neck which was HELLYEAH-SHIOK!
Too bad, they didn't manage to escape by themselves. Good thing Rick and group arrived in time to save them from being executed. They hid inside one of the houses when they managed to escape. Glenn told Daryl that Merle was there and that he was the one who tortured him and threw a walker at him. Daryl, on the other hand, was hesitating because he wants to see his brother. I mean it is understandable to want to see your family. But Rick asked him to stay with him and explained to him that without Daryl, they had no chance of making it out since Glenn is already badly injured.

Everything that happened after was so cool. They had a massive machine gun fight while trying to get out Woodbury. But in the scary rain of gun shots shooting and flying around, poor Oscar was killed. I didn't quite get this part when Rick thought he saw Shane. I thought it was rather redundant. Also, Daryl didn't manage to run away together. He was caught. They didn't show how which I find to be quite disturbing because the rest of them escaped.

While all these are happening, Michonne sneaked into the Governor's house and sat down. She was waiting for the chance to kill him when she heard noises coming from the room. She wanted to open that door in the previous episode but was stopped when people came in. She opened and found Penny, Governor's walker-daughter. This part was rather WTH as well. She did not check if that girl was actually alive i.e. not a walker, before she released her of the chains. The Governor came back in time and begged Michonne to let Penny go but instead, she put the sword through her head and the Governor went berserk. Michonne and him fought and amidst their pushing and pulling, the aquarium of zombie heads fell out and the water was spilled all over Michonne. Ewk!

He tried to force Michonne's head to the walkers' heads which were still trying their best to bite. (seriously?!) She then stabbed/dug out his eyes with a piece of glass from the tank. Andrea arrived at the scene and there was this stand off between the two of them. I guess it was very emotional. Michonne did not say a word. They just walked one round. (looks like those old chinese 古装剧) Andrea was pointing her gun at Michonne but she left, just like that. Andrea must be very torned apart when she was there. At one corner lies her new lover with one eye dug out and at another side, her friend who saved her and fought alongside with her for eight months.

The whole episode ended with the Governor putting all the blame on Merle and Daryl (who was caught). I reckon he was really mad at Merle who told him he killed Michonne but she came back alive and killed his daughter. I seriously think that Merle is just a big man with a freaking simple mind. He's just another pawn of the Governor.

Please don't kill Daryl!!!! I love his character! But I guess he will survive since people with a trademark weapon are usually important characters in the show?

I seriously can't wait for the next episode but it will only be aired in freaking February. So long! It was a great first half of the season with all the actions, emotions, killings, walkers, introduction of new characters and etc. It is way better than season two which was mainly based at the farm where little actions/walkers were around. The main exciting parts of season two were probably Carl getting shot and the attack of the herd which forced them out of their safety zone.

No more TWD reviews until February!

Ciao!
