The Walking Dead Season 3 Episode 4
Killer Within
I know I said that I would only blog after this week which is making me a bit guilty because I should be doing my reflection for NM2217 now. But, to my defense, if I do not blog this now, I would regret because I would not be able to write down what I felt after watching this super intense and awesome episode.
This episode started by showing how a man tried to attract the walkers to go to the prison cell where Rick and crew were at using a deer's carcass. He broke the chain which was holding the gate and left the heart of the deer on the floor. I did not suspect that it was that prisoner whom Rick left to die. To be honest, I have no idea how he survived out there where so many walkers were around. You mean he can fly or what?! It's unbelievable.
Two of the characters, T-Dog and Lori, died in this episode. I'm sad to see them go but this is how this show is. Anyone can be killed. It is not the same world we are in.
That last smile that Lori made to Rick really got me to believe that they might be back together without that prick and gap that Rick was setting in between them. Of all the moments, the walkers have to show up at this heart-warming scene. It made everything so exhilarating and intense. My heart was literally pounding as they scattered around, shooting the walkers, screaming and shouting at each other.
Hershel was strong, he took the walker down with his crutches. I thought he wasn't going to make it. But he did. In the mean time, Rick, Daryl and Glenn were running back to help as fast as they can but it was all too late.
Maggie, Lori and Carl went into one of the cell which I assumed was not cleared yet? I'm not sure since all the cells looked the same. They were trying to find a place to hide because Lori was going to give birth already. One thing I wasn't sure was why couldn't Lori wait for awhile more when it's safer then perform the C-section? Why make Maggie, someone who's not trained, to do it? Maybe she was bleeding too much and if she didn't, both the baby and her would die?
She did what all mothers in this world would have done for their children. Before they tried to cut her open, she talked to Carl. That speech made me cry. It was very touching. But Carl is so young and he has to face all these. Salute. She told her that he is brave and that he must not let the world spoil him. It seems like she had run that speech in her head over and over again for so many times. :'(
Carl was the one who ended his mother's life. He shot her so that she doesn't turn into a walker. They didn't show the scene of Carl putting the bullet into Lori's head, only a single gunshot was heard. It just says it all. I would want that as well if I were Lori. I wouldn't want to become a mindless monster which only thinks about eating another human being every single minute. It's cruel.
The saddest part that hit me and I guess Raymond as well (I was watching with him) was when Rick asked where Lori was when he saw Maggie with the baby. Carl was looking down with a bloody hand holding on to gun. It was the moment when he looked at Carl that he realised that he had lost his wife. He broke down.
They have two new members added to the team, Axel and Oscar - the prisoners. Oscar earned himself a place in the group by killing Andrew (that guy who led the walkers in).
