Nails and Hair
HEYYA! I'm back! Woo! This week had been rather busy for me during the weekdays. I'd been bombarded with projects, individual assignments and what not. They're not yet finished! Weekly reflection and individual assignment for NM2217, weekly lecture test for NM2217, weekly IVLE online assignment for NM2216, NM2210 Project individual report and NM2216 group prototype testing all due next week. I only have Saturday to complete everything! Tuitions and makeover assignments on Sunday. Have to get my priorities right! Oh, thanks to Yiting, I get to be hair model at Toni & Guy on Monday for a free hair cut! WOO! Any of you girls interested for a free hair cut, let me know. The hairstylist is looking for more models!
Seems like it's a must for me to complain about school before starting my posts. HAHA!
I bought quite a few new nail polishes this week and am loving them so far. The colours are so nice and the brushes are wonderful!!! The nail polish remover was bought when I was in the States at Target. It's really cheap and good!
Blue nails that I applied on Tuesday and only took a photo just now. The condition is considered not bad given the fact that I'm not a very careful person with my nails. I always knock onto stuffs and blah blah with my nails so they chip off very easily. In addition, I have very thin nails so they break really easily. But I was itching to try the other colors and so I removed it.
This was the color I was dying to try. I actually had a similar shade for my toe nails awhile back when I did pedicure in JB with YanTing and Yiting (YTYT^^) back in late July or early August (can't remember). I was in love with this colour and was looking everywhere for this (a cheaper version from the OPI once which I had). Smoochiezz set up a booth at Central Forum and I quickly made my way there after lecture to buy it! It's only $8 (2 for $14) and the quality is AWESOME! You may think that I'm exaggerating but I'm always skeptical about splurging on nail polishes. I only buy those cheap brands like Rainbow which is like $2.90 for one? haha! The most atas that I've bought was from MAC during the Estee Lauder event and it was on sale like $10! Other than that, I only bought from TheFaceShop or Sasa.
The consistency of the colours, the brush, the application, the quality...basically it is wonderful in every aspect in comparison to those that I had. I have a feeling I will only use these better brands in the future. Pocket gonna have a big big hole again. Woes of a woman (ai mei de nv ren)! heheh
This fast top coat by Seche Vite is also my new love! Ok, not exactly new because I used to have one and if I never remember wrongly I was persuaded by one of the manicurists at The Nail Palace to buy it at $25!!?? And I only bought this at the bazaar for $10! What a steal??!!! It helps the nail polish dry so much faster so I can go do other stuff!
One other beauty product that I've been using everyday this week. It's the Victoria's Secret love addict Beauty Rush daily moisture body lotion in fresh strawberry and almond milk. I am OBSESSED with this!!! Like seriously! I bought this from LA and I think it was 3 for US$25. The scent is so sweet and it is really moisturising. Every morning when I wake up, I really feel the difference in my skin. It feels so much more supple and looks so moistured. As I was always under the Sun in the past due to my CCAs, I have really dry skin especially my limbs. Sometimes, they even look scaly to me. Ya, yucks! But now, I really feel this lotion made a difference. I used other brands like The Body Shop, Nivea, Jergens but none of them give me this instant result the very next day. I'm going to buy so many more bottles when I go USA this december!
Next! How can I not touch on either makeup/hairstyle! I was bored while researching for NM2210 and decided to play with my hair, plus the day was so hot! I created 2 different braids and made do with the second one as the first one looks a bit too mismatched with my chill clothings. LOL
It's just a dutch braid only incorporating hair from the bottom and I tucked the remaining braid on top of the dutch braid. The tail (hair) was hidden inside the dutch braid with bobbie pins. Easy to do. It looks very classy from the front but I wasn't wearing makeup so I'm not presentable enough to take photos.
Then, I switched to a side fresh braid which I braided from the top left to the bottom right, cutting across my head diagonally. My black roots are so distracting!
With the remaining regular braid, I simply twisted it into a braided bun and secured it with bobbie pins. Simple! Ta-dah~
Just a random picture of Lily Bass from the latest episode of Gossip girl! I always loved Lily's classy and elegant style. This low braided sock bun is a must try for me but I hope I won't look too old with such a low hairdo. Blair Waldorf also had an interesting hairstyle at the start of the episode but I couldn't get a good look of it to see what is it exactly.
Ending the post off with my Cheeky Boy! He has given his permission to upload this amusing .gif to the public space. haha! Love you!
