Date with JY
Hi guys! I'm back to my weekly foodie dates with Jingyi :) It was an impromto outing because we couldn't make it for another of our secondary sch peep's gathering. She's been talking about this bakery and I actually knew where was it all along but didn't even step into it before. HAHA. It's actually located at Tiong Bahru which is just 1 block away from my makeup teacher's studio.
These were the other cakes/pastries available. They all looked really yummy but there's only two of us so we can only enjoy so much.
Blackberry crumble (can't remember what's the exact name). It was delicious. This was probably one of the best we had at the bakery. It's a little too sweet for me though. But JY loves it!
My pizza-like bread or whatever you call it. It was quite nice but I couldn't finish it as usual.
However, the plate was a bit to small and the crust was too hard to cut through. Overall the vege, tomatoes and ham combination was great.
This is JY's super small and expensive macchiato.
After we ate we just walked around a bit and snapping a few shots then off we go to Grin Affair! We walked from Tiong Bahru Bakery to Grin Affair. HAHA! Two fatso got to exercise a bit after eating too much.
The signboard was not so grin-worthy with the mould and dead plants. |
Most of the cakes were sold out by the time we reached there, I bought banana, kiwi and dark chocolate flavors. Look at the cute jars! Those are glass jars and you can return it to the store after eating. How environmentally-friendly.
I bought it over for Raymond's family and chit chat for a while. It was nice catching up with them. I felt so bad not visiting them but I am really busy with school and work.
Yeaa...Got to rush off for tuition already! I would say the Tiong Bahru Bakery was a 3/5 because the food was not as nice as we expected it to be but the ambience is good. It would be a 3/5 for Grin Affair as well. The cakes were good but the service was so-so only, plus the signboard looks so gross with the mould... they should probably do something about.
Till the next foodie hunt!
