Makeup Pictorial Tutorial & R's departure

Hey guys! I'm back with another makeup tutorial. I'm so going to try doing a video one soon when I have the time. I did this look for my date with Raymond yesterday on our monthsary. We wanted to go Gardens by the Bay but did not make it in the end because last entrance is at 8:30pm :'( At least we caught a movie - Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. It was a good one! All right, back to makeup!

First, I prep my lips by applying a generous amount of lip balm from Kiehl's which I think is really nourishing and moisturising. Then, I applied the Studio Secrets primer from L'Oréal on parts of my face where the pores are visible.

Using Revlon colorstay foundation, as you can see, there are 2 different shades, I mixed in the ratio 1:2 respectively (from the picture above) to get the ideal shade for my face. This is actually easier for me when I apply makeup for my clients since it's crazy to buy all the shades. I applied the foundation with a foundation brush as shown below as it actually helps to make the pores look less visible. You can check out Michelle Phan's video for all the different types of ways to apply foundation.

I used to apply it with my hands as the warmth from the hand can help to make the foundation absorb better into the skin. Then again, if you have bulging pimples and whatnot, using a foundation brush would not be able to cover it as well. Thus, it depends a lot on your skin condition that day. Though I really do find this new foundation (a cheap drugstore type) to be really good. It is not thick and it absorbs really well. Maybe it's because I've been using the Artistry Intensive Skincare renewing peel. It's said to aid in better makeup application. Click on the link to find out what I've shared:)

After which, I applied Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles which I bought from the States (sadly, it's not sold in Sg. sobs) Using my ring finger, slowly pad the concealer from the outer circle to the inner one. This way, you make sure that the least amount of concealer will be at the inner most circle which is closest to your eyes as this is where the most number of fine lines will be. Thus, the fine lines will not be so visible. The more products you layer on top of these lines, the more obvious it gets. SO!!! Do not layer too  many products on your undereye!

Lastly, for my face, I lightly brush on the Dior Lightveil foundation to create a matte look and also contoured my fat face with The Body Shop Bronzer with an angled blush brush.

Then, using Kate eyebrow powder palette, I filled in my brows. It is very important to have filled eyebrows. If you ever let me choose what make up to put on only, I'll choose to fill in my brows. It makes the person look younger. If you haven't realise, old people tend to have less eyebrows. It could be due to plucking of the brows when they were young which hurt the roots and thus they stopped growing or that because of age, the brows just stopped growing anymore. (just saying most, not all the old people). I also thickened my eyebrow as can be seen from the two pictures below. (copy korean stars, heehee. but I made it a little more subtle. look at Taeyeon's makeup from the Twinkle MV above. so pretty right!!!)
Using Etude House pink Dia Shadow as my eye shadow base, I layered the sweet pink eyeshadow from the Castle Dew palette all over my eyelids. Then, using the purple shade, I layered it on my lids until the double eyelid line. The brown shade was applied on the outer V corners of my eyes and the lightest eyeshadow in the inner corners of my eyes to brighten my eyes.
Then, using Bo Bo eyeliner (from Taiwan), I lined my upper lash line and half of my lower water line. Using a   q-tip, I smudge the eyeliner on the lower water line a little to make it less harsh. With Shu Uemura's white eyeliner, I applied it to my water line to create the illusion of bigger eyes. I curled my lashes and applied mascara lastly.
I only applied my eyeliner in the night.
With my Shu Uemura's blusher, I brush it on my cheeks by drawing a tick (nike sign).
Last but not least, I applied lipstick from Dollywink. But, before applying the lipstick, use a tissue paper to remove any remaining lip balm. To get more long lasting lip colour, after applying the first layer of lipstick, place a tissue paper on top of your lips then pad some loose powder on top of the lips with a brush.
Then, apply another layer of the lipstick. Lastly, topping it with Lancome's lip gloss to give it some shine:)
See how my iPhone bumper and pink fluffy ball are so matching? Loving it so much!
I'm loving this Hello Kitty top from F21 as well. So many things that I bought from the States have become my favourite things now! I should probably blog about my hauls from the States. BAAAMMMM!
Was playing with the Pudding camera app on my iPhone yesterday. Basically it was because I had makeup on so I wanted to camwhore! haha
My cousin commented on FB saying the top left picture below looks a lot like my sister. Yup, sisters indeed :)

***
We had been spending the last 1 month together almost every single day. Sticking to each other no matter where we went and what we did. A rather awkward reunion at first but the ice was broken or should I say melted as we hung out with one another more. A wonderful and unforgettable trip in the States created so many sweet memories. Be it the fun we had, laughters we shared, rides we took, cold we braved or even the quarrels and bickers we had, they just made us grew closer together. Separating for ~5 months was torturous but it definitely did not divide us but made us cherish each other more. We made a deal for me to spend a night over at his place on the first day he return in december and he would have to spend the second over at mine no matter what happens (touchwood, breakup, he has new gf/i have new bf). Funny right!? But I think and I'm sure we would still be together by then. What do you think, Raymond?
Some shots of us having fun together on our last night in Sg.

Before his flight this morning, we had breakfast at Wang's Cafe at Changi Airport Terminal 3. I am quite thankful for the jet lag in this case as Raymond actually accompanied me to breakfast for quite a number of times during these 2 weeks in Sg. If you know him well enough, it is harder to wake him up in the morning than scoring a 5.0 CAP! HAHAHAHA

Last shot together.

I miss you so much already. Please stay safe and take great care of yourself! I love you darling. See you in 6 months.
